Veranera is excited to introduce Maaji to our amazing collection of Colombian swimwear designers.
Maajiness...Maaji exists to inspire and surprise Real Mermaids. Everything has a touch of Maajic. Made in Colombia with love
Maaji was born in Colombia in 2003, created by sisters Amalia and Manuela Sierra. In 2017, Maaji became part of an investment branch of LVMH. Since then, the swimwear company has worked its way up to be in one of the most competitive sectors in Latin America: swimwear. Amalia and Manuela are still part of Maaji, as a Commercial Director and Creative Director, respectively.
Maaji identifies its brands with colorful and whimsical beachwear designs inspired by the sea. It’s this affinity of the sea combined with a desire to do the right thing that has inspired a culture of caring and giving back. From planting more than 100,000 trees to leading beach clean-up efforts and supporting many local causes, Maaji has remained dedicated to making a difference to both the environment and for social justice.
In the past three years, Maaji created a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmed which entails cleaning and taking care of the environment. Earth Warriors’ objective is to clean oceans all around the world, and recycle the plastics that are found in them. Maaji ocean and beach clean-ups engage with communities to promote healthy eco-systems and healthy living. To date, some of their most successful cleanups have taken place in Colombia (Santa Marta, Cartagena, and San Andres), the United States, Guatemala, and Israel.
